Laser Toner Transfer Station

What is a Laser Toner Transfer Station?

At the transfer station the toner image on the drum is transferred onto the paper. A corona assembly (wire on a roller) is positioned behind the paper so that the paper which is travelling at the same speed as the drums surface is rotating, contacts the drum. This corona produces positive charges which collect on the back of the paper. Because the positive charges on the paper are stronger, they pull the negatively charged toner particles off the drum. At this point in the process, toner is held to the paper electrostatically and can be rubbed off.
