Another winning development to add to Perth's already strong possibilty of receiving city status. The Fair Maids House, Perth's oldest secular building has recently been refurbished to open as a geographical education and visitor centre; now occupied and used as a base for the Royal Scottish Geographical Society
Although it's refurbishment has been costly at £750,000 - the Maid's House now encompasses an education room, library and explorers room, as well as a wide range of displays incorporating 300,000 historical maps and 40,000 books and artefects.
We at Microsupply are delighted that the listed building, which had lay empty for over 15 years is now being put to such a marvellous use. Professor Iain Stewart, RSGS vice-president said of the development, "It is fantastic to see geographical research alive and kicking at this new and exciting centre”.
